Gotu kola

Centella asiatica, commonly known as Gotu kola, is a plant native to Southeast Asia with a rich history in traditional medicine, particularly Ayurveda. It's often used as a brain tonic and is believed to possess neuroprotective properties. A 2012 research article by Ilkay Erdogan Orhan, published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, explored this potential, reviewing the traditional uses and modern scientific investigations into Gotu kola's neuroprotective effects. The study, titled "Centella asiatica (L.) Urban: From Traditional Medicine to Modern Medicine with Neuroprotective Potential," highlighted the plant's possible benefits in conditions involving oxidative stress and its potential antipsoriatic activity. This research contributes to the growing body of evidence examining the efficacy of traditional herbal remedies.
